In 2021, we purchased 345 acres of forest and wetlands along the Big Cypress Bayou, driven by a vision to transform it into a sustainable, organic farm. Our primary goal is to produce enough meat and vegetables to sustain our family, with plenty to share with the local community. We also aim to create a safe, healthy space for residents of Marion County and beyond to enjoy the outdoors, reconnect with nature, and learn about growing nutritious, sustainable food.
In our first year, we focused on clearing land to create pastures for our animals. By the second year, we were chasing both animals and nature! Now, in our third year, the land has revealed its potential, and our vision is starting to take shape. Currently, we care for over 100 chickens and turkeys, 60 St. Croix sheep, 50 goats, 9 Angus cows, 7 cats, 6 quarter horses, 3 livestock guardian dogs, and 1 farm dog who runs the show. Our animals thrive on rotational grazing (the move to fresh grass throughout the land), ensuring optimal nutrition while working together to shape and rejuvenate the land.
For four years, we proudly hosted Jefferson's Civil War Re-enactment, but we're now focusing on agrotourism events. This year, we're excited to host our first annual Fall Festival, with fun activities for the whole family every weekend in October. As the season changes, we’ll continue the festivities with even more exciting events during the Christmas holidays!
We invite you to join us on this journey, whether by visiting our farm, participating in our events, or simply enjoying the fruits of our labor. At the heart of everything we do is a commitment to sustainability, community, and the joy of learning to live in harmony with nature. Come see for yourself how we’re growing something special—together.
